The government of Venezuela is considering taking over the running of a facility currently owned by global drug behemoth Pfizer, according to reports.

Pfizer told the Associated Press that it had recently met with the Minister of Popular Power for Commerce, Eduardo Saman, to reiterate its commitment to continue supplying essential drugs to the nation. The company says it is in negotiations to pass control of the "eastern" factory to another party, possibly the country's government.
