GPhA elects Bruce Downey of Barr Pharma as 2006-7 chairman and other officers

The board of the USA's Generic Pharmaceutical Association (GPhA) has elected Bruce Downey, chief executive of Barr Pharmaceuticals, to serve as its chairman for the 2006-7 period. Also elected were: Heather Bresch of Mylan Laboratories as vice chairman; Rosendo Ferran of New Chemic as secretary-treasurer; and William Marth of Teva Pharmaceuticals and Michael Collins of Mallinckrodt to be "at-large" members of its executive committee.
