Since 2006, the HealthTrans Access prescription discount program in the USA has provided uninsured/underinsured populations needed access to critical medication, saving these consumers more than $182.0 million. The HealthTrans Access discount drug card provides cardholders with discounts ranging from 10% to 85% off the cost of generic and brand name prescription drugs at more than 55,000 pharmacies nationwide. The average HealthTrans Access drug price is $31.79, which is a 57% savings over the national average medication price of $75, as stated by the National Association of Chain Drug Stores," said Michael Oshins, HealthTrans senior vice president of consumer directed programs.
HealthTrans says its offering differs from some of the emerging big-box retailer low-cost and state-run programs because the list of covered medications is far more comprehensive, as there are no exclusions.
