Hungary's ETGYSZ Joins Eucomed

Hungary's ETGYSZ, the country's association of manufacturers of healthcare products, has recently been admitted to Eucomed, the European association of health care products manufacturers, according to MTI Econews.

The ETGYSZ promotes the interests of Hungarian businesses active in Hungary's 300 billion forint ($1.43 billion) a year health products market. It is now looking for assistance from Eucomed in implementing European Union standards and regulations in Hungary.

Health Care Wages Increase Hungary's Central Statistical Office has reported that gross wages in the Hungarian health service in January this year were 36.2% higher than in January 1997, according to MTI Econews. In comparison, gross wages in the Hungarian economy as a whole rose 21.7% over the period.
