Impact of Italian earthquake on local pharma

Italy's research-based drugmakers' association, Farmindustria, has expressed concern over the negative impact of government measures taken  in the wake of the earthquake in Abruzzo in April. The group expressed  its appreciation for most of the emergency management covering the area  around L'Aquila.

However, the Farmindustria notes that 27% of the region's exports  previously came from the drug industry which has worked hard to restore  production to damaged facilities. In this context, the pharmaceutical  manufacturers' association argues that the cancellation of a government  deal to invest in innovative drugs and the levy of an emergency tax to  pay for reconstruction in the Abruzzo region are unhelpful.
