India revises prices of six bulk drugs

India's National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority has revised theprices of six bulk drugs, reports the Times of India, raising five and lowering one.

Betamethasone alcohol's price goes up from 190.47 rupees per gram to 224 rupees, betamethasone valerate's rises 179.05 rupees per gram to 212 rupees and betamethasone phosphate is up from 166.52 rupees per gram to 185 rupees. A major beneficiary will be Glaxo India, which makes all the varieties of betamethasone available in India, it is reported.

The price of lynestrol, made by Infar India Ltd, goes up from 68,300 rupees per kg to 79,044 rupees per kg.
