- PharmaciaLeiras, a joint venture between Huhtamaki Oy of Finland and Sweden's Pharmacia, has received a license in the UK to sell its progestin-releasing intrauterine device, Mirena. The product has been available in Scandinavia since 1990, and is now used by 200,000 women. Approvals in Belgium and Switzerland are also expected in 1995.
