In the face of Japanese government and generic drug companies' efforts to increase the prescribing of copy medicines, a market research group has come up with evidence that the nation's doctors are worried about the quality and efficacy of these products.
A doctor's awareness survey by TM Marketing among 1,968 physicians found that the percentage of those expressing concerns about quality had increased 22 points over the past five years. Moreover, the research indicated that respondents' worries regarding the efficacy of generics were not vague or unfounded, but real based on personal experiences. A stable supply of copy medicines was another area of significant mention.
