Having just announced a $1.0-billion acquisition of fellow-USA-based Cougar Biotechnology in order to bolster its oncology offerings (Marketletter June 1), J&J has now reviewed the growth strategies and pipeline for its pharmaceutical business at a meeting with the investment community. Senior leaders from the company's pharmaceutical segment outlined how continued expansion of its core products, progress in its pipeline, and an end-to-end approach to its R&D will fuel the group's long-term growth and address unmet medical needs.
