Kyorin offers Novartis timely new weapon in urticaria

Japan’s Kyorin Pharmaceutical (TYO: 4569) has entered into a global license agreement with Swiss pharma giant Novartis (NOVN: VX) relating to KRP-M223 and its back-up compounds, which were discovered by the Tokyo-based firm.

Under this agreement, Kyorin grants Novartis an exclusive worldwide license to develop, manufacture and commercialize KRP-M223.

Kyorin still has an option to commercialize in Japan and manufacture the product for the Japanese market, with Novartis also retaining an option to co-promote in Japan.
