LION Bioscience opens second US subsidiary

Germany's LION Bioscience has opened its second US subsidiary inCambridge, Massachusetts. The new unit "will focus on providing the same level of excellence and technical support that we provide to our European customers, as well as sales and marketing activities in the USA," says David Chilvers, vice president for life science informatics sales and marketing.

This moves comes just nine months after the firm opened LION Bioscience Inc, the US subsidiary founded to execute part of the $100 million alliance entered into with Bayer AG in June 1999 (Marketletter June 28, 1999).
