South Africa's only medical device distribution company to be listed on the Alt-X exchange, Myriad Holdings, has welcomed the government's plans to merge drug and medical device regulation under the Medicines and Related Substances Amendment Bill (Marketletters passim). However, the firm called for thousands of devices already approved by US and European regulators to be automatically licensed and to concentrate on reviewing new products.
