Merck KGaA Holds 100% Shares In Merck Generics Group

- Merck KGaA has increased its outstanding shares in the MerckGenerics Group from 75.5% to 100%. The increase was planned for 1999, but was given preferance at an earlier date, said the company. In 1994, Merck acquired 51% of the Merck Generics Group. This was raised to 75.5% in 1996. The company says that 1996 generic sales rose by 53% to 620 million Deutschemarks ($367 million).
