Most Belgians recognize importance of R&D pharma

A national opinion poll carried out by the IPSOS Belgium market research firm found that 56% of respondents have a high regard for the  research-based pharmaceutical industry. The survey was based on  interviews carried out in the summer of 2008.

According to the pharma.be, the country's drugmakers' association, the  results are consistent with an international analysis conducted by the  Geneva, Switzerland-based international ethics watchdog, Covalence. The  latter found that the pharmaceutical sector has a 52% positive ranking  versus 19% taking a negative stance.
