Need for Japanese version of FDA

The Japanese Liberal Democratic Party's Research Commission for Promotion and Creation of the Nation based on Science and Technology, is proposing that the country looks to setting up an organization on the lines of the US Food and Drug Administration. This would combine the Pharmaceutical and Food Safety Bureau with the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency, in order to more effectively prevent health problems due to drugs, take strong safety measures and increase the efficiency of the marketing applications review process.
