New study shows companies' licensing successes

As competition in the market increases, effective licensing strategies have become a key component of pharmaceutical companies' business development mix in the drive to improve their global market share, according to Wood Mackenzie. The life sciences strategic analysis and consulting firm has just published a new Licensing Insight study, which identifies those companies who have successfully integrated product licensing into their strategy for business growth.

Some key examples include:

- GSK stands out from the pack in terms of the number of deals secured over a 15-year period, and is currently progressing more than twice the number of licensed products through development than any other pharmaceutical company;
