Nigerian health scam sees ministers resign

An investigation by the Nigerian Economic and Financial Crime Commission into the alleged 300.0 million naira ($2.6 million) scam within the Federal Ministry of Health suggests that the deal was hatched by a suspended accountant of the ministry (name withheld), reports the Vanguard newspaper. He was, according to the investigation, also responsible for the withdrawal of the money and its disbursement. The Vanguard said it uderstood that the Commission has recovered 106.0 million naira from officials of the ministry. Prior to this news, Nigeria's Health Minister, Adenike Grange, and her Minister of State, Gabriel Aduku, resigned their posts on the strength of corruption allegations in the Ministry.
