Novartis pulls Sandoz out of IFPMA
Sandoz, the second largest generic drugmaker, has been withdrawn from the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations by its parent company, Switzerland-based drug major Novartis. The move, decided in a closed meeting last November in Washington DC, means that Sandoz will no longer be required to abide by the research-based drugmakers' association rules on marketing ethics (Marketletters passim).
