Novartis' Tasigna effective in Glivec-resistant CML
Swiss drug major Novartis has welcomed data published in the June 14 issue of the New England Journal of Medicine stating that its investigational drug Tasigna (nilotinib) helped 92% of patients with chronic phase Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukemia achieve a complete hematologic response, with normal white blood cell counts, after having shown resistance or intolerance to Glivec (imatinib).
