Ono licenses Progenics' OIC drug in Japan

Japanese drugmaker Ono has acquired the local rights to Progenics' Relistor (methylnaltrexone bromide), and it plans to develop and commercialize the US-approved drug for the treatment of opioid-induced constipation.

Under the terms of the deal, Ono is responsible for developing and commercializing subcutaneous Relistor in Japan, including conducting the clinical development necessary to support regulatory marketing approval. Progenics will receive a $15.0-million upfront payment from Ono, with up to an additional $20.0 million payable upon achievement of development milestones.
