Palau, Iberhospitex partner on coronary stent

11 May 2008

Barcelona, Spain-based Palau Pharma SA, which is focused on the discovery and development of novel products for the treatment of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, says that its partner, Iberhospitex SA, has received marketing approval from the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Medical devices for its Active coronary stent. In addition, the product has been awarded CE Marking from the European Union.

In recent years, Palau has been collaborating with IHT and this is first approved product from this partnership. The latter will market Active in selected world markets. Under the terms of the agreement between the two companies, Palau will receive royalties from sales of the stent, while IHT will market it to several European countries, including Spain, France, Italy and Portugal, and expects to make the stent available immediately.
