Pfizer Discontinues Diabinese
Pfizer India has discontinued the manufacture of Diabinese(chlorpropamide), due to uneconomic pricing issues. The company has indicated that a government rethink on price control would allow it to reconsider the decision. The drug's price had slumped from 7.50 rupees (20 cents) per strip of 10 tablets two years ago to 2.82 rupees per strip now.
