Ph II wild-type KRAS data support Erbitux
New data presented at the 2009 American Society of Clinical Oncology Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium, held in San Francisco, add further evidence to the enhanced efficacy of Erbitux (cetuximab) in metastatic colorectal cancer patients with KRAS wild-type tumors, according to German firm Merck KGaA.
A randomized Phase II trial, investigating the influence of KRAS status on the efficacy of an Erbitux-containing regimen in the first-line treatment of 117 mCRC patients, provided a response rate of 53% in subjects with KRAS wild-type tumors versus 36% in those with mutant tumors.
