350% rise in demand for daily Wegovy weight-loss pill

Three weeks after the UK launch of Danish pharma major Novo Nordisk’s (NOV: N) daily Wegovy Pill (semaglutide), weight health provider CheqUp says early demand indicates strong consumer interest in a clinically supported oral alternative to injectable weight-loss medication.

CheqUp has seen demand for the pill grow by 350% in the weeks following pre-sale and launch. The provider says interest has continued to build as awareness grows that an oral treatment may be a viable option for eligible patients.
