Ambrosia bolsters clinical team as it pushes oral obesity pill toward trials

US obesity specialist Ambrosia Biosciences has strengthened its clinical and scientific ranks, naming cardiometabolic drug developer Linda Shapiro Manning as chief medical officer and adding obesity researcher Randy Seeley to its scientific advisory board. The privately held Boulder, Colorado firm is preparing to move its lead oral candidate into first human trials.

Shapiro Manning brings almost three decades in obesity and cardiometabolic medicine. She has helped guide regulatory filings for GLP-1, amylin and other programs at Novo Nordisk (NOV: N), Germany's Boehringer Ingelheim and Rhythm Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: RYTM), and spent a decade treating patients in obesity practice before moving fully into drug development.
