AstraZeneca launches Breztri in USA asthma after FDA approval

21 July 2026

Anglo-Swedish pharma major AstraZeneca (LSE: AZN) has launched Breztri Aerosphere [budesonide/glycopyrrolate/formoterol fumarate] in the USA for the maintenance treatment of asthma in patients aged 12 years and older.

The rollout follows the US Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) April 28, 2026 approval of the expanded indication, adding asthma to Breztri’s existing use in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). AstraZeneca says the product is the first and only fixed-dose triple-combination maintenance therapy approved in the USA for this asthma population.
