German pharma, crop and material sciences group Bayer (BAY: DE) this morning disclosed plans to further expand its production, distribution and research activities in Asia with further capital expenditures of around 1.8 billion euros ($2.47 billion) by 2015.
The company has dedicated a new toluene diisocyanate (TDI) production facility with a planned capacity of 250,000 tons per year at the Bayer integrated facility in Shanghai. Bayer has also implemented advanced process technology for its new production site at Caojing in Shanghai, China using integrated design and engineering solutions.
