BRIEF—New approvals for PharmaMar’s Zepzelca
Spanish drugmaker PharmaMar has announced that health authorities in Canada, Qatar and South Korea have approved Zepzelca (lurbinectedin) in combination with atezolizumab (Roche’s Tecentriq) for the maintenance treatment for adult patients with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC) whose disease has not progressed following first-line induction therapy with atezolizumab, carboplatin and etoposide.
The approvals by the Canada’s Health Products and Food Branch (HPFB), the Health Qatar Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety of South Korea (MFDS) are based on the positive results from the Phase III IMforte[1] trial.
