Key vaccine panel in turmoil as court freezes overhaul

US physician and biochemist Robert Malone has stepped down from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, after a federal court ruling derailed a contentious revamp of the panel.

The decision blocked changes to the pediatric vaccine schedule and invalidated several appointments made under health secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr, including Malone’s. The ruling has left the committee unable to meet, with its future uncertain.
