COUR Pharma raises $50 million for type 1 diabetes push

US biotech COUR Pharma has closed a $50 million series B financing round to advance CNP-103, its experimental type 1 diabetes therapy designed to address the autoimmune cause of the disease rather than simply help manage blood glucose.

The round was led by Lumira Ventures and Roche Venture Fund, with new backing from French pharma Sanofi (Euronext: SAN). Existing investors Alpha Wave Ventures, Pfizer Ventures, Angelini Ventures and T1D Fund: A Breakthrough T1D Venture also joined the financing.
