Denmark urged to rework confidential drug pricing pilot

Denmark’s pharmaceutical industry has called for major changes to the country’s confidential pricing pilot after only one pharmacy medicine secured an agreement during its first year, despite companies submitting 13 applications.

The scheme began on July 1, 2025, with the aim of giving patients faster access to new medicines where the published price might otherwise prevent reimbursement. It allows procurement organization Amgros to negotiate confidential discounts with manufacturers before the Danish Medicines Agency makes a reimbursement decision.
