EMS and Fiocruz sign diabetes and obesity technology transfer deals

Brazil’s Fiocruz, through the Drug Technology Institute (Farmanguinhos), and the pharmaceutical company EMS have signed two unprecedented partnership agreements for the production of liraglutide and semaglutide, during an event in Brasília.

The compounds are the active ingredient of Danish drugmaker Novo Nordisk’s (NOV: N) Victoza and Saxenda, and its Wegovy and Ozempic, brands used in the treatment of diabetes and obesity
