Engitix adds $25m to fuel ECM-driven push in cancer and fibrosis

UK biotech Engitix has raised a $25 million series A extension from existing investor Netherton Investments, investing on behalf of BlueCrest Capital Management co-founder Mike Platt. The funding will support preclinical development of extracellular matrix-targeted programs in solid tumors and fibrotic diseases.

The company is developing therapies aimed at the extracellular matrix (ECM), a non-cellular network that shapes tissue structure and signaling and is increasingly linked to disease progression. Engitix believes targeting the ECM could open new routes to treating cancers and fibrosis that resist conventional, cell-focused approaches.
