The US Secretary of Commerce's investigation, which will determine the national security effects of imports of pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical ingredients under section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962, could lead to hefty sectoral tariffs on pharmaceutical imports into the US President Trump has suggested that pharmaceutical tariffs could go as high as 250% in the coming years.
