Helix opens genomic cohorts to AstraZeneca

Helix has signed a multi-year agreement with AstraZeneca (LSE: AZN), giving the Anglo-Swedish drugmaker access to its GenoSphere clinico-genomic cohorts as it looks to sharpen research across a wide range of disease areas.

The deal gives AstraZeneca access to de-identified datasets combining Exome+ genomic sequencing with long-term clinical records. Helix says the cohorts are built through the Helix Research Network, which it describes as the largest precision health network in North America.
