Industry calls for UK to attract top life sciences talent
If the UK is to become Europe’s leading life sciences economy by 2030, it must sharpen its global appeal and do more to attract and keep world-class talent.
So says the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) in a message to the UK government. The trade group has stressed that the nation’s life sciences sector supports more than 300,000 high-skilled jobs across the country and includes the pharmaceutical industry, which alone accounted for £8.7 billion ($11.5 billion) in research and development (R&D) investment in 2023.
