Iqirvo broadens liver disease case with Phase III result

Ipsen (Euronext Paris: IPN) has reported positive Phase IIIb results for Iqirvo (elafibranor), with the liver disease therapy producing a statistically significant improvement in alkaline phosphatase normalization among patients with primary biliary cholangitis.

The ELSPIRE study met its primary endpoint after 85% of patients receiving Iqirvo achieved normalization of alkaline phosphatase at week 52, compared with 23% of those given placebo. Ipsen said the treatment’s safety profile remained consistent with previous studies, with no new signals identified.
