Independently approved, high-quality information on medicines in Ireland is now available on facebook for the first time, the Irish Pharmaceutical Healthcare Association (IPHA) announced last week.
IMB research indicates that one in four people in Ireland source important health information on-line and that it influences the choice of medicine or treatment for half (49%) of those who use it, noted the IPHA.
Having trustworthy information on how medicines work, details of how to take them properly and any possible side effects, can have a dramatic effect on people’s lives and well-being, helping them stay healthy and keep active. Being knowledgeable about their medicines can keep people out of hospital as their illness or condition is managed properly and less likely to deteriorate. This was the message at the launch of medicines.ie on facebook
