J-Pharma and Uniphar advance nanvuranlat into global Phase III trial

18 June 2026

Japanese biotech company J-Pharma (TSE Growth: 520A) and Ireland-based healthcare services group Uniphar have advanced nanvuranlat into global Phase III development for second-line biliary tract cancer, after reaching alignment with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on the program’s regulatory path.

The companies said the agreement allows nanvuranlat, also known as JPH203, to move into a pivotal study without an additional Phase II trial. The first patients have now been randomized in the global Phase III study, which is being jointly managed by J-Pharma and Uniphar Development, Uniphar’s regulatory and clinical development division.
