The New Zealand government has unveiled a four-year plan for investment in science, research and innovation as part of its goal to build a more productive and competitive economy.
Finance Minister Bill English said Thursday that the government's annual spending plan contained NS$385 million ($289.67 million) of new investment to support businesses and farms to innovate and stay ahead of the competition, while ensuring New Zealanders had the right skills to compete in an increasingly global labor market.
