Novo Nordisk breach draws ransom claims from hacker groups

Danish pharma major Novo Nordisk (NOV: N) has reportedly been subject to ransom claims from two hacker groups, which separately sought multimillion-dollar ransom payments after gaining unauthorized access to a limited number of internal IT systems.

The company disclosed the security incident on June 11, saying certain personal data had been accessed. It has since said its core business operations remain “up and running,” although some internal systems were temporarily taken offline while it responds to the breach.
