pharma.be lauds strong pharma sector, but warns of dark clouds

This year, Belgian trade group pharma.be celebrates its 60thanniversary. Throughout all these decades, biopharmaceutical companies have contributed to cutting-edge scientific research through partnerships with universities and research institutions, it noted.

Clinical studies are initiated, placing Belgium among the leading countries in Europe in this field. For the many patients participating and for the hospitals, which, thanks to their involvement, have the first access to the latest breakthroughs, this is an undeniable advantage. But the sector has also built up an enormous footprint in terms of production and distribution, with many people working for the sector directly or indirectly.
