US drug major Bristol-Myers Squibb (NYSE: BMY) yesterday presented the data at the 2012 American Transplant Congress in Boston, showing that Nulojix (belatacept), its treatment to prevent organ rejection in patients receiving kidney transplants, was found as safe and effective after four years as in a study of patients after three years.
Nulojix was approved by both US and European regulators last summer for the prevention of acute rejection in adult patients who have had a kidney transplant (The Pharma Letters June 16 and 21, 2011). The product has been forecast to achieve annual sales of $650 million by 2016.
