
USA-based clinical-stage biotherapeutics firm Rani Therapeutics (Nasdaq: RANI) has agreed a research and development collaboration with Chinese metabolic disease specialist PegBio (SEHK: 2565), aiming to reformulate several of the latter's obesity and metabolic candidates for oral delivery via Rani's RaniPill capsule.
The collaboration, as described, covers preclinical work on RaniPill versions of multiple molecules drawn from PegBio's portfolio, with the stated goal of advancing the strongest performers into the clinic. No binding licensing, commercialization or financial terms were disclosed.
