Researchers seek $5 billion annual investment to fight superbugs

At least $5 billion will be needed each year to effectively tackle drug-resistant infections, researchers believe.

These experts want a World Bank Trust Fund to coordinate the response to this growing public health crisis, with growing resistance leading to the emergence of superbugs that can cause life-threatening infections such as methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and drug-resistant tuberculosis.
