Russian Court supports Akrikhin in dispute with AstraZeneca over dapagliflozin
The Russian Supreme Court has refused to review the dispute of UK pharma major AstraZeneca (LSE: AZN) with the Russian drugmaker Akrikhin dispute over Forxiga (dapagliflozin) - a drug for the treatment of type 2 diabetes – that became a response to the cassation appeal, which was earlier filed by AstraZeneca.
Thus the decision of the Intellectual Property Court (IPC), which previously upheld Akrikhin's claim and ordered AstraZeneca to refrain from any actions against the Akrikhin's drug, (which may prevent the sale of Fordiglif in the Russian market), was not changed. This drug contains dapagliflozin and is used to treat type 2 diabetes, reports The Pharma Letter’s local correspondent.
