Tracy Beth Høeg to replace Richard Pazdur in FDA role

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced that Tracy Beth Høeg has been appointed acting director of the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER).

She takes over from Richard Pazdur, who became the latest to leave the role this week when he announced his retirement, apparently due to reservations about FDA’s Commissioner Marty Makary’s National Priority Voucher scheme and wider frustrations with Dr Makary and Vinay Prasad, head of the FDA's biologics division.
