
Swedish rare disease specialist Swedish Orphan Biovitrum (STO: SOBI) has reported new Phase III data showing that Tryngolza (olezarsen) reduced the risk of acute pancreatitis by 85% in patients with severe hypertriglyceridemia, adding weight to a planned label expansion for the Ionis-developed medicine.
After six months, patients receiving the 80mg dose of olezarsen had a placebo-adjusted 66% reduction in triglycerides. Those on the 50mg dose saw a 59% reduction. The analysis also showed an absolute reduction in pancreatitis events of 12 per 100 patient-years.
