Australia’s digital health sector growing as global funding surges

20 May 2025

Australia’s digital health sector is poised for steady expansion, with the market forecast to grow at a compound annual growth rate of around 8% through 2034, according to research from data and analytics group GlobalData.

The rise reflects the growing use of digital tools across the country’s healthcare ecosystem, as providers increasingly adopt technologies that enhance access, streamline delivery, and support personalized medical services. In 2024, Australia made up 12% of the wider Asia-Pacific digital health market, underlining its position as a regional leader in the adoption of digitally-enabled care.

Driving this local momentum are advances in areas like artificial intelligence, combined with improvements in usability and design that make digital platforms more appealing to both patients and professionals. These changes are reshaping how medical care is delivered and coordinated, according to GlobalData analyst Shamreen Parween, who noted that digital health is “fundamentally altering how medical services are delivered, integrated, and perceived.”
