LTS to acquire USA-based Renaissance Lakewood in CDMO expansion

German drug delivery specialist LTS Lohmann Therapie-Systeme has agreed to acquire US contract manufacturer Renaissance Lakewood, expanding its reach into nasal sprays and sterile dosage forms.

Renaissance, based in New Jersey, USA, employs around 500 people and operates extensive facilities offering unit-dose, bi-dose and multi-dose nasal sprays as well as small-volume injectable vials. The company, founded in 1979 and owned by RoundTable Healthcare Partners, also runs laboratories for formulation development and spray characterization work.

LTS said the addition of Renaissance complements its existing sites in Germany, Israel and the US, and strengthens its position in the contract development and manufacturing market. Chief executive Bas van Buijtenen described the deal as a step toward becoming a global leader in drug delivery solutions.
